The Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) of the Diocese of Hamilton has been creating opportunities for young people to grow in faith, leadership, recreation, and community for more than 75 years.
Each year, our Crusader Athletics Program provides more than 25,000 participation opportunities for elementary school students across the Diocese of Hamilton. Thanks to the dedication of hundreds of volunteers and community partners, our programs are offered free of charge, ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and community-minded Athletics Program & Administrative Coordinator to help lead and support one of Ontario's largest faith-based youth sports programs.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Crusader Athletics and the Executive Director, the Athletics Program & Administrative Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering C.Y.O. athletics and youth programming throughout the year.
Working closely with volunteers, schools, officials, coaches, and community partners, this position ensures our programs continue to provide exceptional experiences for thousands of young people.
A major focus of this position is coordinating the Crusader Volleyball Program from January through May, while supporting a variety of other athletic, camp, leadership, and community initiatives throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Athletics Programming
Coordinate and support the delivery of:
Boys' & Girls' Flag Football
Boys' & Girls' Volleyball
Participation in J.H.S.C. programming
Lead the administration and coordination of the Crusader Volleyball season, including:
Scheduling leagues and tournaments
Volunteer recruitment, training, and support
Communication with schools and C.Y.O. representatives
Tournament and championship event coordination
Additional Program Support
Assist with the planning and delivery of:
Cross Country (Fall & Spring)
Track & Field Championships
Camp Marydale programs
Leadership development programs at Camps Brébeuf & Marydale
Fundraising events and community initiatives
Special projects and agency-wide programming
Administrative Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Director of the Crusader Athletics Program, Executive Director and leadership team
Respond to inquiries from schools, volunteers, and community partners
Maintain program records and communications
Assist with general office administration
Participate in staff meetings and agency planning
Community Engagement
Support fundraising initiatives and special events
Build positive relationships with volunteers and stakeholders
Represent C.Y.O. professionally throughout the community
Promote the mission and values of the organization
Social Media / Multimedia Coordination
Document Events for sharing on our social media channels
Demonstrate a positive and fun atmosphere to the public
Maintain professionalism while acting on behalf of the C.Y.O. through social media outlets
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about youth, sports, and community service
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
A strong communicator who enjoys working with volunteers and schools
Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Professional, dependable, and enthusiastic
Required
Valid Ontario G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Successful Vulnerable Sector Check
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace)
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as programs require
Preferred
Experience coordinating sports or recreation programs
Experience working in the nonprofit, education, or youth sector
Event planning and volunteer management experience
Knowledge of Catholic education or faith-based organizations is considered an asset
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $22.00 /hr – a 40 hour work week shall be standard for this position
