2012 C.Y.O. Honourary Camper - Dante, Age 9
Children are at the heart of our mission
Each year our agency recognizes one of our C.Y.O. campers with special needs for their individual efforts and award them the title of Honourary Camper. This young person represents all of the children in our community with special needs who need our support. This year we are very pleased to have Dante and his family who have agreed to be our 2012 Honourary Camper.
Dante's family took full advantage of camp from the moment he was old enough to attend camp He has now been with us for 4 wonderful summers. Throughout these four years we have hadthe privilege of watching Dante grow, from crawling or using his stroller to get around, to learning how to walk, to walking with assistance and now, wandering anywhere and everywhere on his own; Dante has been sharing his talents with us at camp.
As amazing as his growth has been, if you asked the staff or campers about Dante, they will tell you about his giant blue eyes that light up when he sees you and the world's biggest smile
stretching from ear to ear when he grins.
Witnessing Dante's milestone's have been inspiring to watch, but being able to see him use his skills at camp, to play with the other campers and share in a smile - that is an experience we will
keep with us for the rest of our lives!
