Ways to Help

We Need Your Help - Volunteers & Supporters

Volunteers are the most important resource available to our agency. Having young people, teens and adults all working together for the betterment of our agency and our community is a wonderful part of our agency's efforts. Our volunteers come from all walks of life: they may be a troubled teenager learning to manage responsibility, a young student trying to acquire his community services hours, or educators and parents who enjoy working with children and those with special needs.

Fundraising is another integral component of our ability to serve those less fortunate. Without the generosity and the wonderful support from our community, we would find it impossible to provide all of the services we currently offer.  Your financial support is a key reason our agency has served the need of children of all abilities, faiths and economic backgrounds in our community for over 50 years.

Four ways - to help our agency:
Crusader Athletics - Coaches, Referees, Time-keepers & Security
The Crusader Athletic Program is our after school recreation/athletic program that serves over 25,000 children who participate in five core athletic programs.  Each year, over three hundred (300) teens, youth and parents volunteer their time for referring, time-keeping, scorekeeping, security and field set-up and teardown.

Sponsor-A-Camper - Gives children a chance to go to camp
Your support will ensure marginalized children in our community are given the opportunity to attend C.Y.O. Camps Brébeuf and Marydale. We are also proud of the fact that both of these camps offer children with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate along with their able bodied friends.

Marydale Park - A Place for Everyone
Marydale Park is the C.Y.O.'s next and most exciting community service project to build Ontario's first completely barrier free, outdoor recreation centre - right here in Hamilton. Not only will the park serve the needs of the 91,440 people in our community who have disabilities, but it will also be the new home of our very successful inner-city day-camp program - Camp Marydale.

Children's Fundraiser - Celebrity Dinner
Since 1986, funds from our annual C.Y.O.'s Celebrity Dinner-Children's Fundraiser has made it possible for over 6,000 children with physical, or developmental disabilities and those less fortunate, from our inner-city, to enjoy all the fun and excitement of attending C.Y.O. Camps Brébeuf and Marydale.
