Leadership & Counsellor-in-Training - Summer Camp Programs:

The C.Y.O.’s Leadership and Counsellor-in-Training (C.I.T.) programs are designed to teach participants how to be  strong, effective leaders, learning new skills that can be used at school, home, work or in the community. Our goal is for each participant to learn more about themselves as individuals and team members allowing them the opportunity to develop their confidence as leaders.

Leadership Program - Camp Brébeuf:

The C.Y.O.’s Leadership Program is held at Camp Brébeuf and is designed to offer young people the chance to discover themselves, furthering their abilities, while deepening their faith. Counsellor-in-Training (C.I.T.) Program Content - Camp Marydale & Camp Brébeuf:

All C.I.T. participants are trained to be camp counsellors using a variety of seminars and training clinics, such as:

·  Red Cross first aid training, ·  Counsellor leadership skills training, ·  Team building activities, e..g. high-rope &  wall climbing ·  Wilderness training, ·  Group studies and open discussions, ·  Daily reflections, on the events and issues facing young people today.

C.Y.O. Counsellor-in-Training Programs - C.I.T.'s:

The C.Y.O. offers two separate C.I.T. Programs, they are:

1) C.I.T. Program at Camp Marydale and Urban Hoops Basketball Camp

The C.I.T. program at Marydale and Urban Hoops is an 8 week, day camp program, held in Hamilton, Ontario. It is recommended for boys and girls currently enrolled in grades 8 and 9, who wish to develop the skills and confidence to become a registered summer camp counsellor for the Catholic Youth Organization. 2) C.I.T. Program at Camp Brébeuf

The C.I.T. program at our Camp Brébeuf is a 3 week, residential camping program, held in Rockwood, Ontario. Applicants must be male or female, who turned 16 before December 31st 2010. The program is designed for those who wish to develop the skills and confidence to become a registered summer camp counsellor for the Catholic Youth Organization.
